Lisa’s daughters attended Pilates as part of their ballet associate training in London. Lisa having worked in gyms as a fitness instructor and as a personal trainer was amazed by the positive effect Pilates had on her daughters’ bodies. Lisa wanted these results for herself, so she attended Pilates classes and went on to qualify as a Stott Pilates instructor. Lisa’s Pilates classes are about bringing your strength and mobility off the mat and into everyday life.
With her knowledge of Pilates and unable to find supplementary ballet training for her daughters in East Sussex, Lisa attended courses to educate herself. Using her ballet background, alongside her growing Pilates knowledge, Lisa devised personal ballet conditioning programmes for her girls. The Pilates Boutique was founded to share Lisa’s expertise and love of Pilates with everyone and provide complementary training for young dancers.
Lisa was a Cecchetti Scholar, before attending full time vocational ballet training at the Central School of Ballet, London. Pursuing her love of movement and fitness Lisa trained to become a personal trainer, YMCA Exercise to Music Instructor and worked for an elite gym in The Netherlands before running her own aerobics business.
Discovering Pilates Lisa found that she had a natural aptitude for the precision, control, and flow of Pilates. Lisa trained as a Stott Pilates mat work instructor and worked for an award-winning Pilates studio in East Sussex. Lisa believes that Pilates has great benefits within improving and maintaining physical performance, injury prevention and active ageing. Lisa is a qualified APPI mat work teacher, Healthy HIIT Instructor and Pilates for special populations teacher. Lisa is also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique teacher, trained with Lisa Howell B.PHTY and Strength4Dance.
Lisa loves sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for movement, injury prevention and peak performance with clients young and old through The Pilates Boutique.
